Abs Troubles

I have nothing but bad luck with my abs. I have a 2000 Sierra with 176000klms 4x4 and the abs just went again. I have changed wss 3 times, 4 sets of bearing assys, the dealer under warrenty replaced the abs module at 70,000kms but I just did the bearings, both sides in April and it starts setting off 3 weeks ago. I am the original owner, is it time to give up!

Sorry to hear of your difficluties. I had the ABS light stay on and after taking it to a shop for diagnostic found that the computer on the ABS module needed replacing. The dealer quote was $900/part plus labor. After reading on this forum others with similar problems I was directed to Module Master. Ordered the replacement for $250, installed it myself with little difficulty . Followed their instructions and now all is right with the ABS. Do a search for ABS problems and you will find the web site. Good luck. :fume:

My neighbor did same with his Grand Prix. Bought it new. After few/many years problems arised. Cost was prohibitive for conditon of car at that time. Drove it for many years after with ABS off.
