Bose Sub Replacement Questions

Hey guys, just wondering if the JL Audio 6W06 would work as a replacement for the factory bose sub in my console? I want something to hit the lows a little more, but don't really want more bass necessarily. I do not want to re-do my whole system and I don't want a box under the back seat.

 

I saw something about a high pass crossover bypass for older trucks. Is that something that can be done to my 2004?

what is the ohm rating, power range and is it is dual voice coil or single? I am attempting to look up the specs on the OEM bose sub........

specs are at JL 6W06

I saw that but it only covers 6W0-4 and 6W0-8...a little help..........

Sorry, let's do either of those. Forget the 6W06. Let's reference the 6W04 and 6W08....forgive my dumb moment

With a 6-inch sub you will not get any true low bass. Even with the best equipment.

I realize that, just looking for a cheap/minor improvement.

With out using an after market amp I don't think you'll get the desired results it will take more power to drive the JL's.

that is my thinking as well without an aftermarket amp, I think the JL will not pickup the current amp at all...

I've seen some info here and there regarding the Bose signal, is it possible that the JL wouldn't even work when hooked up to the Bose speaker wire?
