I have a 2008 silverado 2wd ext cab I want to put a 3/5 drop on it and run 22's but I know I won't have much clearence from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender which is fine.My question is,Is it possible to run a air bag like the link below so when I'm going to put something heavy in the bed I can raise the back end up a little so it won't rub. Thanks

I have a 3/5 kit from ground force on my 2008 and I still have plenty of clearance. How much weight are you talking about putting in the bed?

Heres a buddy of mines truck with 3/6 and stock 275/55/20 tires

with loaded 4 wheeler

without loaded 4 wheeler

As you can see, even with a 4wheeler in the back it doesnt drop much...he said maybe 3/4-1"

Heres mine with 3/5

Cool deal I had a 04 crew with a 3/5 drop on 22's and with helper bags in the rear. Let me tell you they improved the ride quailty alot. Also great for using you truck like a truck when you gotta haul stuff. I highly recommed getting them. As far a clearance with 22's on a new style truck shouldn't be problem but that depends on your tire I was running 285/35/22 tires on the classic only problem was had to roll the front fenders. New body style you shouln't have to do that. I know guys putting 26's with 3/5 drops on new style trucks and suvs. The kit was made by a company called air lift and I purshased though stylin concepts. The air bag sat on top of the left springs just behind the the axle and was designed for a lowered vec so may want to check to see if your kit will work with a lowered vec to. Besides that it was a fairly easy install that took me about a total of six hours to install everything may take you less I have to have everything just right to be satified. Good Luck!

Im not sure if the kit you linked is for a lowered vehicle, plus what kit are you getting?

If you do an axle flip that airbag kit will not work.

I was thinking like Groundforce I don't think I will do a flip kit most of the 3/5 are not a flip kit unless I'm mistaken.

Some like Mcgaughy has options for both flip kits or spring replacements for 3/5. The pic of my RCSB posted above is the ground force kit #9996.

Let us know if this kit works, Im just not sure how much clearance you need bewteen the top of the springs and the frame. I would still verify with this company that it works with lowering kits.

You never did answer....what are you going to be hauling?

Oh I don't know what I'll be hauling but in the back of my mind I just wonder if it's better to be safe than sorry.Like friday I'm going to put sheetrock in the back but it's at the stock height right way the hell up in the air.But when I lower it I won't be able to put much in that's why I was thinking of the additinal airbag setup just incase I want to haul some thing kinda heavy. The 2000 silverado I had was so low the 22" tires were actually inside the fenderwells so that's why I'm not going to low with my 08.Heres a pic of my 2000 I just sold it in October it was a sweet ride.
