Is It A Truck Thing?

OK well this is my first truck - and I have had it for about 3 weeks now - the more I drive it the more I love it!! The Mrs and I went to one of the Nice Steak Houses here in Tampa ( Ruths Chris) and it was so cool pulling up in the truck and better yet when the truck got pulled up when we left all shiney white and chrome...

But anyway I drive the highway and such alot in the days because of commuting - and I noticed that no matter what truck you have - You always seems to stick together on the road - seems I am always in a convoy so to speak of Nice trucks on the way into work - Also they always let you in if you need to get over and I find myself doing the same for them and I get alot of looks in my truck people seem to look it up and down and back and forth at the stoplights ( maybe they are thinking that I want to drive over thier Prius) ... Just seems like there is for sure a bit of a unspoken brotherhood of trucks.... Also Nice to get the 16 to 21 Mpg I have been getting ( wayyyy better than in my RX8)

Just something I noticed being a noob to the truck world --

Pics this weekend!! Billet Grille, Bed rails will be in...

That's because those who drives trucks are just a great bunch of people.... ;)

Yup......its a truck ownership thing...almost like the 18 wheelers stick together no matter what.

Jason, it is an "unspoken thing". We try not to let it be known but as you have discoverd, people who drive trucks are far more intelligent and vastly superior to those who don't.

I will let most truck owners in when on the highway. Except Tundra owners...I will slowly creep up and block them out.

I understand most of what you are saying here, but what do "Tundra owners" have to do with "Truck Owners"?

Just making a little funny here, not trying to start another Tundra war thread.

Congrats on the new truck. Truck owners know what a useful vehicle (hauling people, stuff, offroading, work, etc.) looks like, and a prius is not one of them. Many happy miles!

I've driven trucks for most of the time since I've been driving, so I didn't notice this until I had to drive a d**n rental car. You get no respect on the road in a car. Nobody lets you in and more people cut you off. Driving in Houston traffic has made me a little bit of an aggressive driver, not rude, but I take what I want and I kind of bully smaller vehicles around. You can't do that in a car.

Have to say there is something about a big GMC/Chevy grill in your review mirror that will make you get out of the way or get going - Mine will be a Chrome Billet GMC grill in a few days!

ROCCO - I looked at your pics - how do you like that exhaust? that is sharp - Drone? tone when you go into V4 mode? and how about the rear wheel by the exhaust? You find it getting more dirty or such from exhaust??

As an anecdote: I have never received a speeding ticket while driving my truck. Cars yes, trucks, no.

Now, maybe I don't drive as fast in my truck.

Also, over the years, I have learned to follow, not lead. And granted, if you are doing 90MPH alone in the passing lane, well . . . you probably are a prime target.
