94 Chevrolet Pickup Dome Light Problems?

My dome light does not work on my 94 chev full size pickup. The two floor lights work fine. I have power to the dome light bulb, but with only work if I ground the other side of the bulb, so I have a ground problem. Hoping someone out the might know where this wiring harness grounds? I did replace the stock stereo about the time the dome light quit working. The harness runs frome the dome light rearward, over to the drivers side, and under the door sill plate. Any help would be great. 99% it is a ground problem as I can get the light to work by manually grounding, but will not come on when the door opens, or when I use the dimmer roller wheel. Thanks

Could it be the switch on the side of the dash?? Just a thought....

It grounds at the pinswitch which is in the upper side of the dash facing out towards the door. When the door is opened the pinswitch pops up then sends a ground to the interior lights thru a white wire. Try and trace this white wire (which will probably run right alongside the orange hot wire) from the light itself on back up to the dash. You most likely have a break in the wire somewhere. If all else fails and you cant find the break, you can "patch" it. Just run you a new white wire from either the pinswitch or one of the under dash lights and connect it to the white wire on the dome light. You said the two under dash lights work fine, so the pinswitch should be good, most likely its just a break somewhere between the switch and the light. Something else you may want to check, look all around the parking brake pedal. I've seen wires get pinched in that pedal before.
