Radio Lights Out In 2003+ Radio? Controlled By Class 2 Data Bus?

Okay; I just got my used UC6 6-CD Changer radio married to my VIN by the dealer and its working great --- except that there is no backlighting of the buttons or the knobs. The display works fine and is at full brightness.

I noticed in other forums that there is apparently no wire that controls the radio illumination. One diagram shows it as controlled by the Class 2 data bus. Has anyone heard of this problem? Do I have to have a Tech 2 activate the backlighting?

AFAIK, there is no seperate option for backlighting...it's quite possible the bulbs just burned out...they did in mine and I too have a 2003...

all burned out at exactly the same time?

I have the same problem with my 2003 Sierra. I recently replaced all of the bulbs in my radio, tested it with a power supply (all of the bulbs lit) and when I installed the radio back in the vehicle, no lights! The instrument cluster and HVAC controls function properly (brighten and dim with control of knob), but the radio is blacked out. Any suggestions??
