Scanner Not Reading Vin

this is for gm techs ,we just started using laptops at work and found that while tring to perform passthru programing the scanner would not read the vin and would of course cause an error and my blood pressure to go up,our administrator has emailed our instructors at zone hq and no response as yet,so i thought why not see if the boys have seen this sort of hiccup before.thx.

thx ,but i do not know what that means,I should amend the problem,it is the laptop that does not read the vin ,not scanner

crap cant find the bulletin. saw one a while back about new vehicles being EXTREMELY sensitive to volt drops while programming. that was one of the symptoms.

 

do you guys have the wireless mdi's avail to you yet? theyre awsome and work on most apps where you would do passthru

our mdi is set up and works great but the whole purpose of the laptops was for future passthru only veh's and is alittle frustrating at this point,our admin guy on the phone to someone at TIS was uneventfull ,so here I am,also,I always kill the headlights for programing,thx for your post .
