Well, I Broke Down And Got A New Truck

Well, I broke down yesterday and traded in my 03 1500 Z71 for a 08 Chevy 2500HD LT1. This is the first diesel other than the diesel's that I grew up on, but they are a different breed. If anyone has any tips, tricks, etc I could use them. I know that I am going to have to decrease the rear tire pressure 80 psi unloaded is too much, I'm thinking 60 to 65 is much better. I am also looking at a set of nerf bars and spray in bedliner. Anyone have any preferences on either?

Awesome! Can I have it?

Sorry, it took me a while to find this one. It's the only LT1 with dual climate in a 100 mile radius that's not white, red, black, or birch.

Nice truck! I have the Westin Signature Series nerf bars and they're great. I know most people will say go with a Line-X liner and that Rhino sucks, but I'm very happy with mine.

I have TechTubes Nerf bars on my 07NBS Ext Cab and love them - I went with black because there is already so much chrome on the bumper. I also put in a Line-X bed liner and have a Leer 100XL canopy. My truck is also Blue Granite - I love the color. I went with the LT2 pkg to get both pass and driver 6 way power seats - the DW likes being able to adjust her seat more than front and back.

I am sure that you will enjoy your new truck.

I have the Cabelas oval tube steps on my HD (they are made by MAAP and have a lifetime warranty). I put a Lear cap on my bed and covered it with a BedRug brand liner.

I put 265/75/16 LT load range E tires on my Dmax and am running 60 psi frt and 55 psi rear.

Congrats on the new truck. I suggest a spray in bed liner, Line-X if you can afford it, Rhino Lining 2nd. Nerf bars, anything no smaller than 3"s & no thicker than 4"s & stainless steel. Looks like we have the same exact wheels if yours are 16", I'm running 265/75/16 Bridgestone all terrains and I have 40 all around and feel this is the perfect tire pressure, nice smooth ride, no tire wear, and handles quite well.

Very nice truck. Although they get bashed on here, I love my Rhino liner. I think it must depend on how well it is installed. On nerf's I think smaller and closer to the body looks best, but you loose function, try to find a happy medium(I'm still looking). Good luck.

Congrats on the truck, looks great. For side steps I just installed some GoRhino Dominator II side steps. Easy install with no drilling req'd. I've always had traditional nerf bars in the past and just wanted to try something different. So far I like them alot. They were $385 to my door.

Can't help you with the bed liner, I'm a topper and carpet man.

I agree...

I've put Rhino Lining in both my trucks. I swear by it.
