The difference maker in plug wires is the amount of shielding that goes into them to protect from interference. The MSD's are up there I really wouldn't spend too much money on them they won't net you any more hp than it's competitor though.

Summit Racing has the 8.5mm MSD Super Conductor wires for about 70 bucks. Not too bad for their quality. OEM wires are probably that much or more these days. They ship pretty fast too.

I would strongly suggest you look at Taylor's 8.2 Powervolt. I researched this pretty heavy about a year ago and decided on the Taylors. When I contacted them they were super nice and answered all of my questions. I attempted to do the same with MSD on two occasions and was treated like I was bothering them. Taylors are 100% American made and although I cannot be sure, I think MSD imports portions of what they offer. The guy at Taylor would not use a name but just told me that one of their major competitors was not all US made.

bought my brother in law something like 10.8mm ones or something like that. They were taylor made. A full tune up may get some mpg back

I've read good reports on MSD and Taylor.

Get the "pre-cut" type.

I never trusted the cut to length and do my own crimp thing.

Wires are a non-moving part so very hard to determine if they made a difference.

Some items are upgraded to satisfy the "mental-figuring" that goes on in our brains.

Not all improvements can be "seat-in-the-pants" improvements.

Some are "mental" improvements.

Accel are crap.

Since most of us don't have a "truck magazine" expense account, we don't have the $$$ or time to do a scientific "before/after".
