Tune = No More Remote Start

:thumbs: Guys i not sure if i did somthing wrong but i just installed my nelson tune, I had to do the secutity relearn, and i have a p3015 crank relearn. No big deal but no my factory remote start does not work Any ideas??? I had allen do all my fleet silverados and they all do the same thing. One more thing the service at Nelson performance is the best i have ever delt with.. they call when they say and keep you very informed of how things are going. I have not had a chance to drive it yet but i will be going out in a little while. :):)

I have a Wester's tune and my remote start works. I had to get a crank relearn also, but did not have to do a security relearn since Lyndon used a new pcm. You may want to ask Allen if there is something he disabled or needs to enable for the remote start to work.

Coincidentally, I just now finished installing my Nelson tune. I sent him brand new modules so I could keep my stock ones. I had to do the Pass-Key procedure also, but it only took one cycle, not 3. It started on the 2nd try and idled nicely after a minute or so. I then took her for a spin and WOW!! I will save that for another thread. When I got home, I tried the remote start and it made a noise, but the remote start did NOT work. I too will e-mail/call Nelson. If you find anything out, please be sure to post and also PM me, ok? I also have a SES light and I assume it's the Crank Relearn, but have not decoded it since I do not have a scanner.

i found out what the problem was the crank relearn trips the engine light, When any engine light is on the remote start will not work. I hooked up the tec 2 computer and did the relearn took about 2 min and engine light out remote start works fine!!!!!!!!!

And as for the tune WOW this truck is fun again i will post more later..

Well it's not any SES light that will disable the remote start feature; only those related to Emission Control Systems.

 

my best friend is a master gm tech and he said any time the check engine light is on it disables the remote start its a safety feature.

Well Jaime, all I can tell you is what our Owner's Manual says, and also the tech I talked to at my dealership. They both state that only SES lights caused by emission control related system disable the remote start. Other SES lights will still allow the truck to start remotely.

Lots of ideas im not sure but the light is off and the remote start works. How do you like that corsa system i orderd one yesterday i got the one with the 2 tips out the right side. I had nelson turn off the AFM on my tune so im not to worried about the 4 cyl drone.

Ditto!!! Got my Crank Relearn done today and all is good now!!! :lol::thumbs:
