Please help. I just got an 85 pickup. hood cable is not attached and I cannot get the hood opened?

you have come to the right place ,I hope someone can help you,you have not looked close enough .incredible

got it. used a rod with a bend in it and snaked it between the grill and the hood into where the cable used to be and moved it back and forth till i hit the acuator that opens the hood.
