Got a question about servos. I am looking at these in assistance in pulling my camper. I hear 1st and 2nd 3rd need the corvette servos and the 4th needs the strong hold billet servo. Does this sound right or does anybody have these and can ad input?? thanks

Yes, the Corvette servo and 4th hold billet servo is what you need. I don't have to use tow haul any more towing my camper. Works great.

The 4th hold servo is in the cover and you get a new cover with the servo installed. You put the Corvette servo in and then the new cover, Getting the snap ring back in is the hardest part.

Just spoke with a Tranny guy and he told me that the tow/haul button changes the shift points which I knew but he also said that he had changed it for people in the past and they came back wanting the stocks ones back

The reason the people wanted the stock servo(s) back was probably because of the harsher shift. I don't have any experience with a corvette servo, instead I went with alum. billet servos for both 1-2 and 4th. You don't want to be taking a drink of coffee when it shifts from 1st to 2nd. But I also have a Transgo shift kit so I'm sure this helps to make it worse. I would'nt think just a corvette servo would be that bad though. I recently saw a corvette servo at www.oregonperformancetransmission.com for about $14. Like Don said, it's fairly easy to install since you don't have to drop the pan. Just put it in with the stock 4th servo to see if you like it, then you can either buy an alum. billet 4th (about $60-70) and put it in or put your stock one back in and only be out $14 + shipping. I also agree with Don that this is what you need. Believe it or not, the harsher shift is actually better for the transmission due to less slippage. The reason GM built this slippage into the trans is the same reason your tranny guy had people coming back. Most people don't like the harsh shift and think the smoother shift is better for the trans. Hope this helps.

The Corvette servo does not shift nearly as hard as a shift kit. I would not say mine shifts hard but it does shift really quick, but I have the line pressure raised with a Diablo sport tune.

To each his own. Thats why some people drive black trucks, some drive white trucks.
