How To Remove Chrome Fender Trim?

I believe they're held in with screws through the rolled edge. Can't imagine that adhesive is necessary. The bottom screws in the rear may require a stubby screwdriver or wheel removal to access. You may want to touch up those screw holes with some rust inhibiting paint.

Some of those chrome fender trim pieces just clip on using tabs that bend over the lip inside the fender. (and maybe a couple of screws) If you don't see any screws look for metal tabs bent over the edge. The outer rubber edge can rub through the paint if they have been there long. If it is just scuffed behind them, compound and wax will get rid of most of it.

Good luck.

thanks guys. I guess I should have looked a little closer to see if they're held on by screws or not. I bought the truck used, so no telling how long the trim has been on there. Either way, I have to wait for some better weather

I just did a quickie in MS paint to show the look I'm going for:
