I think you can get the grill from your gm dealership. I remember someone posting something about that

You can buy a painted grille from GM or you could just have the one you have painted. Lots of people have painted their chrome grille.

wouldnt the GM one be would last beter from rock chips then the painted one ?

Well they would both be painted; one by GM, and one by you. If you were to get one and paint it yourself, or have it painted by someone else, it will hold up just as well as the GM one so long as you paint it the right way (i.e., no Duplicolor aerosol cans).

I painted mine with duplicolor cans. As long as you follow the correct procedures as far as sanding, etching, priming, painting, and clearings, it'll be fine. Mine has held up so far without any rock chips or damage very well. Effort is another issue though. If I were to do it again, I'd have it professionally done.

I'd rather see you trade your chrome grill for an already black one like mine. The billet grille and symbol I think would be a nice addition. Anyway, I could save you quite a bit of work if you're interested.

the problem is, the WT has a flat black look. I want it to match the black paint which it wouldn't do right....

I see. Oh well, it was worth a shot. Good luck if you decide to paint the chrome! :rollin:

The grille pictured is not available, the one from GM doesnt have a black insert, its chrome but you could paint that section or put a different insert.

I just printed out the gmpartsdirect price and went to my local dealer and they matched the price.

Heres mine with the GM painted black grille.

That's a sweet looking truck, I don't think the painted grill would look nearly as good without the painted bumper cap also. I wonder how easy that would be to change out to match the LTZs.

i wish the GM grill had an option for black inserts isntead of chrome ... been wanting a white grill on my truck... but don't want the chrome inserts ... would prefer black mesh

I went to my local body shop after work yesterday and they told me they could do it but it was a pain in the butt because they have to sand down the chrome in order to get the paint to stick. So I am going to do it will cost about $200 but will be worth it I think. Thanks for all your help on this. :rollin:
