4.3l Timing Tensioner Tsb

Own a 2002 Sierra, 4.3l W 81k. Owned since June 06 and the rattle has gotten worse. ?? is, will it hurt anything if left as is ? I have gotten quotes from $700-900 to have this performed. Is this reasonable ?

At this price, I think I can live with the rattle, unless of course it will cause other damage.

Wow, that alot IMO. This is something that can easily be swapped if you have some basic tools and a bit of skill. You could accomplish this in 30min tops.

The best prices I can find for the 6 kits required by the TSB has been from gmpartsdirect.com ($292 shipped). Local dealership wants closer to $400 for the same.

TSB calls for around 4 hrs labor for my application.
