Does anyone know what the bulb # is for the fogs in the NBS 07-08 trucks?

Check the link to the GMT900 Sierra fog upgrade in my sig. It's the same part number but you are going to run into the same problem we all have. If you are willing to spend a little time modifying your bulb bases like I did, this thread should help you.

Daddy has an excellent mod up there. If you don't want to mod your own lights, Putco has a product in the making to replace these unusual styled lights. There isn't an estimated release date yet, but HOPEFULLY it will be soon. Check it out:

There are 4 different colors for some options.

be careful doing this mod on a silverado. I did it and it started to melt my lens. Returned to factory for now.

That was the same problem one guy had on his Yukon. The housing is much smaller on the Silverado and Yukon. With the HID's, there shouldn't be a problem since they produce less heat. I can not guarantee that but I do believe this mod has been tried with HID's on a Yukon and everything remains fine. Check through my thread on this, it's in there somewhere.

Well, i've been reading and the PUTCO sounds good, but time will pass< I can afford to wait>

But if you guys think HID's would be better, then i have to jump on it now, there is a group buy going on in another forume and the HID's are 90$ plus 10$ shipping. so it's now or pay more later.

so the H11's are correct for the lows?

Aren't the HID bulbs bigger, wouldn't that cause fitment issues? Or is the bulb the same size? IF so i'll go for it and try this on my silverado. what color should i get? 3000K, 4300K, or 6000K , more concerned for heat issues, would they all run the same heat or which is safer to prevent lens burn? i know that guy put 6k on his yukon, if i'm not mistaken.

I just installed H11 HID Conversion kit in my NBS Denali. I went with a $90-$100 kit off ebay and LOVE them so far! I went with the 6000k color...just enough "blue" tint...but white enough to throw some serious light down on the road. I would highly recommend the 6000k's!

I found that the H11 HID bulbs fit just fine...pulled the factory H11's out and slipped the new HID's in with no uissues. I tipped / adjusted the lights about 3" lower as the HID's seemed a bit brighter and didn't want to tork off any on-coming drivers.

I haven't noticed any issues with "heat" from the HID's...haven't heard of any other people having issues either.

Okay, has anyone determined the correct bulb to replace the Fogs that is not an HID? I'd ike to replace he fogs with yellow bulbs but don't know the correct bulb number. I'm not interested in HIDs!

I recently installed the eBay $80/pair HID conversions (9005's & 880's) into my buddies 2006 Yukon Denali and so far, so good. The 6000K is perfect though, I'd have to agree. Have any pics you'd like to share with the class?

Long time no see. Putco has developed, or should I say is developing, a replacement bulb for the GMT900 trucks. They aren't out yet but you're in luck, one of the colors they are going to produce is yellow.

The correct replacement bulb # is a mystery! Even the parts guy at my local GM dealer laughed when I asked him what it was. I think his response was somehting to the effect of "That's a good question...are you sure you have a fog light in your truck? My computer doesn't even give a part # so it must not exist!". If I had the ability to reach through the phoen and slap him I would have!

When I had the boys at Advance Auto Parts try to figure it out...they scratched their heads too. I even had the bulb out of the truck and in hand when I waled in there. They looked at it and said something to the effect of "What the F&$% is that thing!"

We did determine that an #880 style bulb will fit the hole / opening prefectly...but the locking tabs won't work. So, I ended up just doing the SilverStar 9005xs fog conversion like shown in Daddy's post. That worked out REALLY well!

Sorry to ramble...the short answer is NO. No one seems to know what the part # is for those fog bulbs...not even the GM parts guys! What does GM feel it necessary to do soemthing so stupid as to screw with something as simple as a fog bulb!?

Sorry...not much help.

Daddy~

I haven't taken any pics of the new HID's yet...still quite a little snow on the ground here. But, the white ground REALLY accentuates the brightness of the bulbs. Maybe tonight I'll take my digital camera with me and see if I can snag some photos of them at night and post them tomorrow.

P.S. - I don't think I inserted your quote correctly!? How do you do that?

Yep, been pretty busy with the move and a new job and all, haven't had a chance to get on-line in quite a while! I'm in Atlanta now, I miss seing your truck in the parking garage! I've bookmarked the ink in your reply, any idea when they will be available?
