Here's a little teaser for my exhaust setup I'm getting installed on Monday. I'll have pics and video clips once I get it back from the shop.

Just got her back from the shop...and she sounds *mean*. Not as neighbor-irritatingly loud as I thought it'd be but it has a great start up growl and it gets mighty loud at WOT. I'll have to wait till tomorrow to post pics and a video clip since the shop didn't get done till the sun had already set, but I'll give ya this one from a parking lot I stopped in on my way home.

Its a Camaro style stainless steel tip, and a Flowmaster Super 44 muffler.

I wish they could have gotten the tip further towards the rear wheel but he said he got it as far as he could. *shrug*

 

I'll get a better fly-by video when I have someone who can help (I used the tailgate of our Avalanche) and some better pics when I get a chance to wash iit.

how does it sound when it goes into 4cyn mode?

It basically just gets quieter. There's very low resonance as it is (which surprised me) and when I let off on the gas, it just gets quieter.

Just wondering how much, they shop charged ya for everything. I was looking at the Magnaflow side system.

Thanks guys. I just took it out on the freeway and I noticed there is a bigger difference between 4cyl and 8cyl mode than I thought. 4 has a deeper note, a bit more resonance and a little less of a rumble, and there's a noticeable transition from 4 to 8, kind of a vibration/buzz. Slightly annoying but not a big deal. I can barely hear it with the stereo on at a moderate level. The 8 mode rumble makes up for it.

 

After tax they charged $270. it was a little more because it took some extra work to get it to exit out the side before the tire. I originally wanted a single in dual out and two tips, but there were some fitment issues...and it would have been $200 more. So, I'm pretty happy with what I got for the money.
