New/rebuilt Engine

I own a 2007 GMC Sierra 4wd (new body) with the 5.3 lt, and am needing to replace it. The only engine I am seeming to come across is the 5.3 for a 99+. Well, here are my questions: will this engine fit my truck? And actually I was wondering if the 6.0 or 6.2 engine would probably fit it instead? Any input would be appreciated.

WOW. A new engine for an 07?

 

There are many crunched or rolled trucks hitting the salvage yards that have well under 5K on them. As strong and reliable as the 5.3 is, I bet you could save a ton of $$$ by installing one of them.

What happened? If it's an '07 wouldn't it be under warranty?

Maybe the problem was "self-induced" is why there is no warranty.

 

Changing to a different engine than what it was built with require 'puter change outs and the opening of multiple cans of worms.
