04 Astro Rad Drain Plug

I'm looking at the right side rad below the lowest rad hose and see a flat plug that is recessed a little bit. Is this the drain and if it is how do I access it and use it to drain the rad.

It won't matter much since the bean counters are in control.

pull the rad hose off ,its easier,they are 1/4" drive plug that turns left 1/4 turn and out at the same time,if you are unsure ,pull the rad hose off instead

Thanks I'll give it a try , but what a poor design to drain the rad, you would figure that they would have something with a wing nut and petcock

I think GM should get some input from their dealership mechanics on how they can improve their vehicles in regards to maintenance items and accessbility problems
