Exhaust Price Range

Iv decided to go for duel pipes and i wana no wat the best setup is and how much should i pay for it? also is it cheaper to buy a kit n put it on myself or to have a garage do it for me? your coments are appreciated

Cheaper to have a garage do it...I was quoted 225 once for a dual exhaust with flowmasters. A kit runs from 900-1,500 bucks.

Custom built is generally cheaper but you may run into issues with shops not being able to mandrel bend your pipes and they'll likely not use stainless as most kits do. As for which is best and how much, give the search button a try. This has been discussed many times over on this site and there's a ton of info out there. You may end up waiting for days to get your answers if you wait for this thread to fill up. Use search and you'll have your answer in an hour and be ordering tonight!

My local muffler guy said he would charge $490 for true duels. Or $260 for single muffler with duel outlets. Same price Flows or Magnas. Im not sure if thats a fare deal or not.

I just got a dual exhaust system installed, a single Magnaflow 24" with dual outlets for 230.00. I am happy with it. I doubt if there would be that much of a noticeable difference if you had a true dual system all the way. You have to ask yourself if you would be willing to pay the extra cost for what you end up getting.

Well, GM does have some in that price range, and I have heard that quite a few kits will be at that level soon enough cause of the rising costs of material.

There are a few dealers on the web that will beat even GMpartsdirect, My dealer actually beat their price too. That $900 list for a touring system is bulls**t. I got mine for under $700. Find the part # you want and start the google...

Got no plans to mod my exhaust on this truck haha...I might even be getting rid of it in a few months. My buddy wants to buy it off me and if he can I'm going to a Duramax.

I paid $345 for my custom system.

$165 for two mufflers, $70 for tips ( purchased those two personally by choice, didn't have shop order ) and $106 to run 3" tailpipes, Since my truck already had dual pipes I would say my setup would be around $400, possible a hair below that. Aluminum piping, installed December, no rusting yet exept for the hangers which is just surface rust, I could paint it in summer and it will last twice as long. So pretty much I'm very happy with the route I went. And the exhaust work is backed by a 1 year warranty.

I bought a Magnaflow single in dual outlet KIT with stainless tips, clamps, etc. for under $400 shipped to my door. Put it on myself.

If you have the money, buy a Corsa kit, it is awesome. Had one on the vette and would do it again, had NO RESONANCE whatsoever in that car, and some forum members here that have one on their truck say the same for our trucks.
