MountaineerTom Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 One of my foglight housings is a little busted up, so I went looking for a replacement. I came across these on E-bay. I've always liked yellow foglights, so I got them. The bad part is I'll have to wait until I get home from Korea at the end of June before I can swap them out. Another problem I noticed when I took my mid-tour in February was that I had a terrible squeaking/rattling sound from under the hood. I'm pretty sure it's the tensioner pully for the a A/C belt, so i'll be swapping that out. Plus, it's pretty dirty and needs a good wash and wax job.
chuck16 Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Were you really happy with your previous Fog lights? The reason I ask is that I couldn't stand mine, They had no throw and you could barely tell they were on. I've heard guys putting different bulbs in them and sometimes that helps but, Not a whole lot better. I ended up 3rd time's a charm with Hella FF100's . Very happy with those. Let us know how the new Yellow Fogs look and how effective they are.
ws6_guy Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I personally dont like yellow fogs.. gives it that euro look imo but still cool
JAFO Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Hey Tom--- who did you find these with and how much? Tried to buy a set from a questionable on-line dealer and after charging my ccard and not hearing from them for more then 2 weeks I e-mailed them to find out that they weren't in stock and they had credited my card for the original price. "Check back in two weeks if still interested." Yeah right! With whom did you buy the lights, I did find one source on eBay with a quick search and they are A LOT cheaper then what I almost paid. Know you said you're in Korea but do you have them in hand? Quality??? Have been looking for amber lights for some time, if nothing but to set my truck apart from the crowd, don't really expect much from my fog lights just an apperance thing for me. And for those that think the factory fogs don't light the way ahead you should try a 95 Camaro's HEADLIGHTS!
MountaineerTom Posted March 11, 2008 Author Posted March 11, 2008 I got them from THIS seller. I haven't seen them yet, but was told they were in good shape and the shipping was quick. I was happy with my original ones even though I know there were better ones out there. The originals worked good enough for me.
MountaineerTom Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 I finally got around to installing them after I got back from Korea. No difference in light output, just the color. I'm happy with them.
2000DV4.8 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Looks good, and I love the stance of your truck. Just a 3" BL, right?
MountaineerTom Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 Thanks. Yeah, just a 3 inch B/L and 305/70/16's.
2000DV4.8 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Thanks. Yeah, just a 3 inch B/L and 305/70/16's. Nice, that's the setup I hope to go with next time I buy tires.
dietz4ibanez Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Wow that looks pretty cool.. I wouldnt have gotten the yellow but to each is own...
MountaineerTom Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 Wow it took 6 months?? haha Well, I just got back from a year tour in Korea in June, and I had other priorities up until now. I decided on the yellow just to have something different. I had not seen any with anything other than the clear.
