Nbs Brush Guard And Tail Light Guards

I am looking for a brush guard and tail light guards to protect my new investment, not to mention make it look bad ass. I went to the local performance store (Performance Wheel and Tire on Santa Fe) and they had vent visors, bug shields, bed covers, and just about anything else, but they couldn't find any tail light guards. The only brush guard they had was a Westin Sportsman, and I don't like the two bar design at the top. I forget which brand I liked (Polar Bear, I think), but it had a one bar design for the top bar and head light protectors on the brush guard and included matching tail light guards, however hadn't released their GMC NBS accessories.

Anybody got brush guards or tail light guards on their new GMC or Chevy for that matter? The guys said if I could find a company that made them they might be able to order and install them.

BTW, Performance has been good to me so far. They did LineX for a very reasonable price and ordered all the accessories at cost and installed them for very little. I would highly recommend them for any accessories in the Denver Area.

Joe, you have a sweet ride there. I wish I could talk you out of the brush guard and taillight guard ideas.

Good luck with your search, sir.

I just see too many fender benders on the way up to the mountains for skiing. Also, helps protect the head lights from flying rocks. I think a chrome brush guard and tail light guards will look sweet, but to each their own...

I have to agree with Alaska here, sorry.

How does a brush guard protect your headlights from flying rocks? Also, brush guards are called brush guards because they protect your front end from brush...not collisions with other vehicles, unless you get or make an extremely heavy duty one. But then you risk damaging your frame by transferring all of the energy to the front frame rails. I'd rather replace my grille than have my frame bent. Not sure what taillight guards are meant to do?

Warn (www.warn.com)makes great high quality brush guards. There are pictures on the website of them on the NBS trucks. Not one bolt ever rattled loose in 6 years of owning one on another truck. You could try ARB also. I don't know if they make NBS ones yet.

Try to stay away from the cheaper ones if possible. There is nothing more embarrassing than to be driving down the freeway with a cool truck like that with a cheap flimsy brush guard shaking and flapping around.

Few brush guards will help much with fender benders and those that do may possibly interfere with air bag deployment

I just installed the WARN 75230 Trans4mer on my Sierra - alot more functional than a brush guard

( had to drill (2) 1/2 holes in frame and enlarge the area where the tow hooks exit - i took off my lower valance hasnt been cut yet - but will require cutting to be installed

if your intent on one - look at GoIndustries - you keep your tow hooks - this was my 2nd choice

I never thought about impeding my airbag deployment. That is a good point.

If you have every driven I-70 West through Clear Creek Canyon, you know the size of rocks that can be kicked up. I have also seen many cars tail lights get knocked out by baseball bats in my neighborhood. I think tail light guards would help, or at least deter that, plus I like the way they look.
