Underhood Light

I went to the parts department and asked for the underhood light - anybody have one on their gmt900 HD - any pics of it and do you know where the wire runs too. Their computer was down but he said he thought they did not come with an underhood light anymore - can anyone confirm this.

I don't believe the new one's have the underhood light. At least mine doesn't. The engineers probably didn't figure it would ever break down except during the day.

OK for all you who want to add an underhood light on 03 - 06. The light mount is still on the hood. It is covered up by the insulation. You have to cut a piece of the insulation for the light to fit.

 

The light part# is 12450086

 

The wireing harness and connector is 15306302.

 

GMparts direct has them.

 

I put one on my 05. Works like a charm.

mine is an 07 - 08 model where exactley on the hood is yours located and I will go look to see if mine has a place for it as well. Who knows they may or reused the bracing

I believe 2002 was the final year for the under hood light from factory, 03 - 06 you could rig one in. I see absolutely no use or an under hood light personally, I never imagine working under the hood in the dark so yeah.

i wish mine had one...its odd that they didnt put them in. I like the ones that used to release on a retractable cord..that was the cats meow

reason I like them is I live out in the country and good to check your oil with before starting during the mornings.

I'm really impressed by all the Cheap-Azzed things GM has done in the past few years to cheapen up their trucks.

 

No underhood light

No light on the floor inside

No RH door lock cylinder

No body side moldings, only stupid looking door moldings

No chrome on the mirrors

Only certain colors get painted flares, the rest look CHEAP

No trim designation on the sides of the new ones. LT.....

Crappy spare wheel and the TIRE doesn't even match.. GEEZ c'mon

My 05HD came with a trailer plug adapter, the 06 didn't. Dealer said it was not included in 06.

 

Must be nice to keep taking things away, and RAISING the prices....
