If I get the 2'' leveling kit, will 17X9 and 285/70/17 tires be ok for my 07 silverado? Would I have to do any trimming or anything?

done it on several vehicles. should fit no problem unless the wheels have a crazy offset. with a 2" leveling kit you can even squeeze in a 305 sometimes.

Has anyone put a 2'' leveling kit on their newer body style truck and put 285 tires on withouth any trimming? If you have post pics please

285's will fit on your stock wheels. if you have the 17x7.5 z71 wheel. thats what i run on mine.

I had the same question. Most everybody says 285/70 17 is as big as you can go without any rubbing. I was hoping for 285/75 17 but couldn't find anybody who said they had them on without rubbing.

285/75/17 is a very uncommon size. the 70 series is usually the highest you will find on a 17. up from there u are looking at 305's.

those are usually fine. a wheel that sticks way outside the wheel well can sometimes cause the tire to catch the bottom corner of the front of the well or the black plastic piece on the back of the well. chevy/gmc's are notorious for hitting the black piece though because the factory glue that holds the piece back comes loose.

I cranked the torsion bars in my rig and got about 2" of front end lift(equivelent to the leveling kit in the new trucks) and i have some 17x9 wheels sitten in my garage. Im waiting to get some $$$ for tires but ive heard of some(few) going with a 33x12.5. I think im going to go to a tire shop and try a 33x12.50 before buying them just to make sure they will fit. Im sure there will be some rubbing but im not afraid to trim some plastic. The 285/70/17s will fit no problem, everyone does gets those to fit. The 9" wide rim will make it a tighter fit but you should still be good. If you went with the 10" wide i think you would run into some problems. Just my 2 cents.
