Picture Request: Oem Nbs Soft Tonneau Cover

Anyone with pictures of the OEM new body style soft tonneau cover installed on their truck? I am talking about the soft cover with either gmc or chevy sign embossed in the leather. Is this a roll top or a folding cover? What are your experiences with it. Thanks!

Well, this may get long, but here goes.

On my 2000 GMC I had an Access Tonneau roll-up cover. I absolutely loved it, after 7.5 years it still was like brand new. So, when I ordered my 07 GMC last year, I insisted upon an Access cover from the dealer when I was picking out the accessories. They said they could get me the Access cover but also said the GM cover was exactly the same as the Access, made by Access and the ONLY difference was the embossed logo. Since I knew GM did not make tonneau covers, this made sense. Price was identical, so that didn't matter. I told him, fine, but if it comes in and you put it on and I see it's different than the Access branded cover, they had to swap it out. I was adamant about not settling for anything less. He agreed. Well, when my truck came in and I was there signing the papers, he told me when he got the GM one, he took it out of the box and immediatley put it back into the box and ordered me an Access Brand cover. My truck had the Access brand cover on it the next day. I never saw the GM one, but he told me it was made by Access, but it was NOT the same quality. The vinyl was supposedly the same, but the structure was much cheaper. He knew I would not be satisfied so he didn't even try to sell me the GM one. Again, they were the SAME price (about $400 iirc).

So, forget about the GM logo cover and insist on an Access brand cover. You will love it!!!

I agree. The GM cover is an Access cover made with lower quality vinyl. Go for the Access.

I have the Access Lorado - very durable cover. Had the orignal access cover on my 96 for 10 years - replaced the velcro once but the cover was still in good condition. Can't comment on the GM version as I havn't looked into them before.

Here's a pic on a 07 CC
