Left a nice parallel two-line dent in my left rear 1/4 panel :):)

Let a local "dent-doctor_dude" go after it today...

AWESOME JOB... can't even tell anything happened... like a magician. Took him 2+ hours, but he got it all out. Did a very meticulous job. Had him take out the rock dent in the front of my hood too.

$125 :rollin:

I recommend it! His only comment: "Man, these new trucks have heavy metal back there..." :(

The heavy metal thing was a joke... They metal on the bed is real thin, my line-x dealer got a notice saying something to the affect of ' dont lean on the new GM trucks while spraying them or you will dent them"

Makes much more sense now....he said it in such a serious way I was really confused. Yes the tonneau covered I installed recently had a warning for GM owners saying to only clamp it to the bed rails in a few certain spots because those spots have 2 layers of sheet metal as opposed to 1. Clamping the cover to the spots with only 1 layer will cause damage. lol, that's sad. Good thing I get 18 mpg though.

well... it was right where the metal around the wheel well has the crease in it.... possibly difficult to work out a dent around there.

I can't speak for the BEDS, or bed rails, but i did go out and look at the sheet metal there, and it's fairly thick around there, IMO.

My last vehicle was an exploder..... talk about thin metal all over....

The important thing.... the DENT IS HISTORY !

Jeez those paintless dent removal guys are expensive. I backed into our 2006 Sierra 2500 by accident and bent up the lower quarter panel on the passenger rear bed, and they hammered it straight, painted it, and they painted some rock chips in, for $130 total out the door, and I got a can of VIN matched paint that we can use for other damages  But the guy did a perfect job and there is no imperfection at all, and no bondo used. Just primer, paint and clear coat

Well, I have no feeling for the cost of body shops, but I figured they wouldn't even smile at me for walking thru the door for under $500.

Certainly a body shop is the BEST solution.

For me, and a grocery cart double rail dent, this was a GREAT job. He was out with my car for almost 3 hours. That's $40-something an hour.

Seemed fair to me. My GMC dealer posts almost $70/hour labor rates any more. :rollin:

Well I had it done at a body shop, but it was done on overtime basically, and wasnt done through the shop perse. Ive seen some good PDR work though, and they can do some amazing work.

Back in 2005, when my wife's 2004 Impala was less than a year old, I was backing out of the driveway and when I cut the wheel to turn as I was entering the street, the driver's side front fender hit my EMPTY plastic garbage container and knocked it over, putting a dollar-coin-sized dent just above the wheel opening. I had it PDR'd for about $125 and it looks perfect.

As for grocery carts. I always park my truck WAY out at the end of the lot, even in sub-zero weather to avoid this kind of stuff. A little walking never hurt anyone. I still laugh when I go to the gym and see poeple circling the lot looking, waiting and actually following people to their cars to get the best possible parking spot instead of just going to the end of the lot where there are several spots available. I once saw (and this is NO LIE!!!) a woman waiting for a spot for several minutes (she was there when I pulled in and was still waiting there when I walked by after parking my truck) only to see her 15 minutes later in the gym......WALKING ON A TREADMILL!!! And to top it off...it was a beautiful sunny, summer day!!!! It took everything I had to not walk up to her and slap her right across the face and say "What the hell kind of moron are you anyway?"

Glad he got the dents out! Paintless dent repair is pretty nifty and it takes a fair hand to fix the dent without cracking the clearcoat.

Rascals with shopping carts though... they just don't seem to care about anything.
