Under Passenger Seat

Recommended Posts

Hello. I have an 08 gmc crewcab 1500. I noticed that under the front passenger seat there are some wires that run to a black box. The drivers seat is power but the passenger seat is not....so I'm wondering what those wires are for. Anybody know?? Thanks.

Probably for the air bag system. It detects if there is someone in the passenger seat

Ah, ya I bet you're right. I was hoping that maybe all the wiring to make the passenger seat power was already there and that it might be an easy upgrade.

It's the wiring for the optional ejection seat :D

I agree with the other poster, it's the airbag sensor stuff and possibly the wiring for heat, power, etc (the options you don't have).

I thought about mentioning the need for a sunroof but it's a bit more humorous to think about having an ejection seat without a hole in the roof :) So the ejected gets hurt on the way up without a hole in the roof but then again if you liked that person you wouldn't be ejecting them, would you???

I don't agree. I love my wife, but there are times I'd definately like to eject her. :)
