Cure For The Fuel Injector Clicking?

Recommended Posts

my 2001 5.3l has that annoying engine click that i have heard is coming from the fuel injectors. I know that this is not a detrimental problem to the motor, but it is to my ears. Anyone know of a way to stop this besides replacing the injectors? I just cant stands it no more!! :banghead:

Its kind of a necessary evil. That is the injector doing its job, spraying fuel. Get ear plugs if it bothers you.

remember the evap purge solenoid will click to when running

its on top of the intake

Injectors do click when working properly but it isn't typically something you'll hear outside with the hood closed.

yeah, its really hard to hear from inside the cab. Mostly noticable from the outside.

If that's the case, I'd recommend a good fuel injector additive (not the 1.99 stuff) from a local parts store for a few tanks. Might just clear up some of the noise.

I was going to try that. Occasionally I use the cheaper STP stuff but i think I'll get some "GOOD" stuff now. Any recomendations?
