bigBP Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 I've got a guy at work who is selling a Matthews Outback. It's 3 years old, he bought it new, shot it a couple of times, and then had a shoulder injury. So, in the past 3 years it's only been shot a few dozen times. Anyone out there with an Outback? How do you like it? I think he's looking for around $400 for the bow. I've looked around and this seems to be an appropriate price, I know they don't depreciate much. Any thoughts? I've been shooting an early '90s vintage Fred Bear Magnum 44 (probably shoots at 240 fps max). The 'ol girl has shot her share of deer, but I think I could make a pretty good case in my head for upgrading. Thanks for any input.
WI_Dave Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Depends on what it comes with for accy's, but $400 for a used bow is high to me. Matthews had at least 2 new models since then.
bigBP Posted April 11, 2008 Author Posted April 11, 2008 Yeah, after doing some looking around (www.archerytalk.com) $400 might be a shade high, although shot count wise it is pretty much a new bow (just old technology). I'm assuming it's just the bow, but I'll have to check if he's including any accessories. I'm going to shoot it here within the next week or two, but I would think the max I would be willing to offer for the bow (no goodies) would be $350. Otherwise I'll start looking for a switchback or drenalin or something else (not neccesarily loyal to Matthews or anything like that). Been looking at the Drenalins and and the new DXT... just not sure I want to drop that much $$$ on a bow when the one I've currently got does the job (I just look at it as a better challenge ) Any other opinions would be welcome.
