Fog Lights

I have a Silverado Z-71 4x4, why do the fog lights not work on high beams?

Because that's the way GM wired it. Same as the reason low beams don't stay on when you hit the high beams. But both situations can be cured with a cheap visit to Radio Shack and a little work:

Part of the problem has been fixed with the NBS trucks - both low and high beam headlamps are on with high beam selected - you still have to mod if you want fogs to stay on.

It's probably because high beams negate the benefit of a fog light. :D

High bright beams don't cut through the fog. The closer to the ground, the better it cuts through the fog.

But if you want it, the other fellas are right.
