Hi everyone, I hope someone can shed a little light on what my problem may be.. Its a 1999 silverado w/ 4.8L and NV3500 5 speed. It has 77k on it. THe problem occurs when you accelerate in 1st, 2nd or 3rd and then depress the clutch pedal while the trans is still in gear, basically coasting with it. IT makes a noise like something is almost spinning loose and turning or spinning inside. If i put the shifter in neutral while this is happening, you can hear the spinning noise slow down and stop. If i put i back into gear, from neutral it comes back..It does not make ANY noise with the clutch pedal released, ONLY when depressed and when i gear while coasting...It makes no other noise and everything else works great. I have an 88 with a 5 speed with 210,000 miles on it and it doesnt make this noise. Thanks and I hope someone can help!!

I have only had the truck a year or so, so I am not sure if the T/O bearing was ever changed..No I do not ride with my foot on the clutch at all. Its one of my pet peeves.

Thanks for the input guys!.. That was my original thought, but wanted some confirmation, before I went ahead with it. Thanks again!
