Instrument Panel Lights?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have a 2005 Silverado and the illumination behind the fuel guage has stopped working. All other illumination is working fine. I assumed these were a standard bulb and I pulled the instrument panel out and pulled the black cover off the rear and found the system board but to my surprise there were no bulbs. How do I replace the bulbs?

EDIT: I just noticed I may have posted this in the wrong section so I posted it in the Ask the GM Tech section.

There are lots of threads addressing this issue throughout this forum. Bottom line is that you'll have to disassembly the cluster to replace them since they are soldered on the circuit board. Lots of guys have done it w/ success. It's either that or you can send it to a repair facility or replace it.
