Wife Looking At A 2005 Colorado, Need Advice.

It's a 2005 extended cab 2wd with the I5 Vortec auto, 42,000 miles. Is there any problems I need to look out for? TSBs, general reliability concerns? What kind of mileage could she expect with that engine?

I had one, bought it new in '05. Didn't even keep it a year. No mechanical problems at all, it ran pretty good, although I only put about 6k miles on it. It was pretty under powered, only got about 16 mpg average, and the engine was pretty noisy. And it was really small inside for me 6'1". Anyways, good luck...

From everything I've heard about them, it almost makes more sense to get a fullsize. The only way I could see myself getting a Colorado/Canyon is midyear when they get the 5.3, or if I was building an off-road rig.

I have driven the 5 cyl and the 4 cyl modles and didnt notice a difrence in power.The only thing i liked about the 5 cyl is that it sounds like a v10. So get the 4 cyl and you will be better off.
