FK5984 Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 I'm wondering if anyone out there has done anything with these hydrogen fuel systems. I've been giving it some serious consideration in an effort to improve gas mileage, but can't find information from people that have actually tried it (other than what each company provides on their website). I've been told that the extra heat generated from burning the hydrogen can damage pistons (don't want that). Not that I'm advertising, but one of the most popular systems seems to be runyourcaronwater.com. Just looking for some objective input. Thanks.
Zembonez Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Pure "SNAKE OIL" at its finest. They used to hang 'em for scamming people... now there's the internet.

It takes more energy to "crack" hydrogen from water than is released during combustion. Any claim to "run on water" is, as stated above, "snake oil sales" talk.
jgme Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 The use of hydrogen for automotive applications is quite impractical. The whole talk of hydrogen is just a front for generating electricity from nuclear power. Hydrogen and its combustion product of water is more palatable than nuclear energy to an uneducated emotion driven general population. As noted hydrogen is typically derived by cracking water using electricity. Hydrogen energy content per unit mass is great relative to other fuels. Unfortunately, hydrogen's energy content per unit volume is quite poor relative to other sources. An automobile can't pack enough hydrogen to match the range provided by gasoline and other hydrocarbon fuels.
Tucson_02Silverado Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 FK5984, are you actually looking for a supplement system. "Brown Gas" (HHO) electrolysis. search on electrolyzer. There's a segment from Coast to Coast AM Water4Gas.com is the company in the C2CAM segment. Sounds interesting, I'm curious, but not enough to try any of these systems.
D&SYukonDenali Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 Water4Gas.com is the company in the C2CAM segment.
Tucson_02Silverado Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 Water4Gas.com is the company in the C2CAM segment. If you would listen to the segment, Water4Gas.com was the web site that was mentioned. Otherwise if you meant that the segment was bull, state it as such, and why it was bull to you.
Bowler807 Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 I built and installed one of the suplemental hydrogen generators. I am continuing to experiment with some things, but I can definitely see improvement both in mileage and power. Currently I am running a system that develops about 3/4 of a liter of Browns Gas per minute. For a 5.3 engine, this is not enough for a substantial improvement. I am presently working with electrolyte concentrations to improve gas output. I have been at this for several months. In that time I have gained 2 mpg in overall driving. I know, that doesn't sound like much, but it comes out to be about 12.5%. The additional power is the most noticable. My truck has 3.42 gears and the torque converter would unlock at specific points in my normal commute. Since installing the Hydrogen system, the torque converter unlocks less than 1/2 of what it did before the install. I'm going to keep experimenting with this system. I can see significant possibilities for it. Call it what you want, but I know it works.

I just listened to the Coast to Coast AM program that Tucson_02 Silverado suggested, very interesting.
D&SYukonDenali Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 My time is more valuable then this thread is worth, but in order to prevent this scam to spread further, I spend a little time. First look here as starting point (stanley meyers): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_fuel_cell Note: watch out for the site that claims the original founder of the system was poisoned by big oil. Second, many local news stations have tested the system, along with national news stations, all coming up with it is a scam. Here is my guess how there marketing budget is spent. They pay some people to troll boards, such as this, to post something as simple as the title of this thread. In most cases, the OP is a newer member with limited number of posts. The simple question gets people to google the information, which shows a bunch of websites that support the system with testimonials. However, each website has a buy here button. Then when people start to tell the truth about the system in boards like this, the OP first defends the system, claiming they have heard it works and looking for help to get the system installed. Then, when pushed backed hard enough, claims that all they were looking for is advise on installing the system and can't beieve they found the website so closed minded. Course I could be wrong and this thread could have been started by a person the innocient intentions Now if you would excuse me, I have to send my back account information to the prince of nigeria so I can hide money for him during the upcoming attempted coup; by which I will be hansomely rewarded by being able to keep half.
C & A s Dad Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 Dan, You are too late. I have already sent the Prince all of my banking and credit card info and his royal staff is in the process of depositing 16.5 billion into my bank while you are reading this. Shoot, I really feel bad that I got ahead of you on this so if you will send me your banking info, your SS #, your Credit Card #s and your cell phone #, I will give you 8.25 billion of the funds. I will even throw in a Hydrogen fuel kit to boot.
D&SYukonDenali Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 I'll send it your direction just as soon as I'm done verifying all my personal information in these fraud alert emails I have received from banking institutions where I did not even know I had an account. Thank god for the internet; without it I would be getting taken advantage of everyday!
Bowler807 Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 All you need to do is search HHO Generator, or hydroxy, or Brown's Gas, or electrolyzer. There are thousands of sites that will give you free information to build your system. If you don't want to spend the time, you can always pay the "big" sites for their plans. The only thing I had to purchaes when building my system was some stainless steel wire. I think I have $8.00 invested. Everything else I had laying around the house.

Input from anyone else that has tried this would be greatly appreciated.

Also by someone who just became a member of the site.
