Intermittent 4-ways On Left Turn Signal

Hi

I have a 03 Sierra 2500 with trailering package.About 3 months ago the truck started to intermittenly turn on the 4-ways when the left turn signal is on,and of course it won't do it at the dealership.I have a trailer,which I recently hooked up to see that everything was in working order.When the left signal is on in the truck(it is working properly in the truck)the 4-ways are on,on the trailer.Everything worked fine last season.I think it is the flasher module,any thoughts.

Don't think it's in the flasher myself. If it worked fine before, I'd look into the combination switch in the column. Sounds like it might be ready to let go. May well be worth talking to a GM tech. They see this stuff every day and might have a better idea where to start.

Just to make sure I understand this correctly.

 

With no trailor connected the left turn sig lights work fine.

 

With the trailor connected the left turn sig lights on the truck work correctly, but all the turn sig lights on the trailor with flash.

2003 Z71. Got the same problem. Left turn signal, hazards flashing ( sometimes).

I Think it's multi-switch. I will investigate.

Put a hazard flasher in both of them and call it done. GM has a bulletin that says---

Customers may comment that their hazard light flash when either the left or right turn signal is applied.

 

Recommendation/Instructions:

Replace the hazard lamp flasher (P/N 15764135 ) and not the multi-function switch.

Not a problem. I had the pleasure of finding that one before a bulletin was issued. The issue is in the relays inside the flasher. The new has changed the relays.

Thanks guys,I put in a new one this morning.Got it yesterday,thinking that's what it was.The P/N is now 10383321,the other number is obselete.That just makes you wonder, if there was a problem with them all along.I took the old one apart and it looks as if one set of contacts,was a little pitted. As if it had fused at one time and most likely did it from time to time.Everthing works great on the trailer now.
