One thing I don't get about those rankings... The Silverado is ranked at 6.0 reliability, the Sierra is ranked at 7.0. How can there be any difference? Aren't all the internals the same?

Hate to be where Dodge is. :cheers: And why did they compare the Isuzu Colorado/Canyon truck to the fullsize trucks. That was just stupid. :seeya: And how does the truck still get rated higher one of the categories are missing. All the categories should be counted and if they didn't get anything they they get a zero for it and that drops their scores.

Contrary to popular belief there isn't that many problems, but basing a test on PREDICTED reliability is kind of lame, and why are the GM trucks the only ones with a safety rating? Very odd.

Yea, you know all those assembly line workers when they are putting Chevy's and GMC's together in the same plant are thinking "How can we screw up the quality just a little bit more in GMC's" :thumbs:

The people who buy Tundras are the same people who complain about all the jobs leaving the U.S. and the economy being down. What did you think was going to happen when you bought a $40,000 dollar truck from Japan? And dont even get me started on that joke of a car Prius!

 

As for J.D. Power and Associates Predicted Reliability rating, how can you predict the reliability of a vehicle thats doesnt have any history? The new Tundra has been out approximately 2 years and has had tons of camshaft wear issues, torque converter issues, tailgate strap issues and 4 wheel drive issues but everyone thinks its the greatest truck ever because it has a toyota badge. If those problems had happened with a Silverado, Ram, or F-150 it would have been all over the news how much American vehicles suck. These "expert" rating companies are all total :thumbs: !!!

They WISH it were just a tailgate strap issue. The tailgate strap issue was GM's with the GMT800s. The Tundra's tailgate straps are just fine. The rest of the tailgate? Um...Not-so-Much. :thumbs:

 

I am not a Toyota defender and I hate the Turdra. But you may want to get your facts straight before bashing it, otherwise it just makes you and other GM guys look bad.

 

Yes, the Tundra is Japanese because it's made by a Japanese company. But it did not "come from" Japan. It is built and sold exclusively in the US. (which maybe proves some of us Americans aren't so smart after all, huh? :D )

Vmax, you speak like a true propaganda victim. Yes, the Tundra is assembled in Texas and Indiana. But, according to the state of Texas labor department, the majority of there workers are...you guessed it. Japanese. The equipment they use......yup Japanese. The parts they use to make the trucks..... we are on a roll folks, made in Japan. Oh and the construction of there plants as well as where do all those american dollars go? You guessed it. Japan. As for "built and sold exclusively in the U.S." You have again been mislead. The Tundra has many different versions and is sold pretty much all over the world. Different countries might not get the exact same truck available here, but close enough.

Nope, not a "propaganda victim". I was just stating that the Tundra does not "literally" come from Japan. I did agree that it was a Japanese truck though, didn't I?

 

From everything I have read (which is alot) The Tundra's (new 07+ Gen 2's) are built exclusively in Indiana and Texas and are not sold outside of North America. If this is not correct, please show me, I would love know.

 

Now, if we could only get GM to quit having parts made in China. :thumbs:
