Broke Transfer Case Adaptor

Recommended Posts

Ok, I have a 2002 2500HD, Duramax with the Allison transmission. The transfer case adaptor for a four wheel drive broke, I have found and aftermarket one for around $300.00 and a bracket that is supposed to help with any vibration when under a load etc. I had some parts fall out when I took the adaptor plat off of the transmission, and I am trying to find a micro fiche or a PDF of the transmission and transfer case so I can make sure I have it back together correctly

Also, if anyone has any idea or suggestions on the after market parts I described please give any feedback, I will greatly appreciate it.

They are not uncommon to break. I had broken one in my F250, same as an old buddy of mine in his. It's most likely the salt which got into the area where it connects and rotted it out, or aimply a worn out part. Try spraying your under carriage with fluid film before winter season. It's better if you have a compressor and a paint sprayer attachment and buy the fluid film by the gallon. I actually want to try out diesel fuel, I heard it also can precerve the under chassis of any vehicle for years to come.
