I have 2008 NBS with 16" wheels and have an opportunity to get a set of 17" takeoffs from another 2008.

Do I have to put my TPMS sensors on the new set or can I use the ones from the other truck that are already on the new set?

You can use the "learn" the sensors in the new wheels to the truck, no need to swap them.

Use the origanals. If you put the originals in the same location LF RF RR LR. you won't have to re learn them.

Going from an '08 to an '08, I see no reason to swap the sensors from one to the other. The more you have the yahoos at the tire shops messing with your tires, wheels, and sensors, the more likely it is that something will get broke.

Do the take-offs come with tires? Are they tires you're planning to use? If you're just swapping one tire/wheel combo for another, I see no point in paying the tire guys to break-down the tires & wheels, move the sensors over, etc. All that'll do is give them a chance to break something and possibly cost you even more money.

The TPMS relearn is an easy process and takes hardly any time at all.

One thing to note : IF you plan to keep the original wheels & sensors, store them more than 10 ft away from the vehicle. I have "heard" (although, I have not experienced it) that if you put new sensors on the wheels and the vehicle and the original sensors are kept within 10 ft of each other (say, in a garage, over night), that the tire pressuring monitoring system can sync-up with the original sensors and give you false readings, the next morning. Again, I have not verified this myself. But, I have heard of this happening. (But, we read / hear a lot of things on the net, don't we?)
