What do you folks think about the Edge Evolution for th 07-08 GM trucks and SUV with 5.3 engine. worth it or not any improvements on power or fuel I have heard that the mount is cheap looking and the placement sucks? I could mount in another location. I am looking to buy a power programer and since PPE does not make one for a gas motor Edge is my choice. I already run a aftermarket air intake

Thanks

Most people around here think that a custom tune is the best way to go.

If you are just looking for the gauges, you can buy a scangauge. It plugs into the OBD2 port (think that's what it's called) and it shows the information. It doesn't do any tuning, but it allows you to see what your vehicle is doing.

I does do some tuning. It has 4 levels of tuning. I have it and it does help the truck out. I like the heads up display and the option to change a tune when ever you want because the programmer is mounted in the truck.

I have had the edge tuner on my truck since december and I like it a lot for the gauges

and the tuning, especially the top speed limiter, but it did knock about .3 secs. off my 1/4 mile and helped economy but be carefull leaving it on extreme for any period of time

thats what I did and now my cats are blown.

That is all I run my truck on is the extreme setting. I have put on about 8000 miles without any problems.

How my miles do you have on it and how did you know your cats are bad. And did the dealer cover them?

Well I have about 7 thousand on the tuner, 21k on the truck and my cats sarted rattling

really bad and i noticed reduced power and mileage since that happened, I'm a service

advisor at a gmc dealer in AZ so getting them replaced isn't an issue for me, I would rather buy an off-road y-pipe however without cats but am unable o find one, if any of you guys know where I could get one let me know please

Dynomax makes a complete header & Y-pipe kit for the NBS trucks which I beleive you have the option of getting it with or with out cats.
