Question About Bed Rugs

For those that have the bed rug, do they hold up like the manufacturer claims? and do they prevent damage to the bed?

Are the GM accessory bed rugs made by the same company that sells under the bed rug brand?

Thanks.

My first experience with a bed rug was back in 1980's with one I had in an El Camino. If you want to stop stuff from sliding, they are way better than any spray on liner. Now that is not to say I would not get a liner also if I was hauling a bunch of say construction stuff, because the bed rug does not protect the sides at all....

I used to haul a Snap-On KRA59 box full of tools and only once when I had to make a sliding stop did it ever even move on me......

I have one in my Sierra and would not be without it....

And get the good thick ones. There are some el cheapos out there.....

I love mine,I also have a tonneau cover so its not in the weather so I can't answer how it holds up to that, but so far so good!

The GM accessory one is made by the same company,WISE Industries, that markets under the "Bed-Rug" name.

I have an older model bed rug in my 2003. I am guessing it was made sometime around 2000 as I bought it used on ebay. I am using an access toneau cover which keeps it dry. I love it for every day use. Nothing seems to slide and you can haul about anything without fear of the item being damaged from sliding around or rubbing.

The only gripe I have is it seems really hard to get small particles of dirt back out of it. This maybe because I hauled a load of rock and also some old dried up tree branches and leaves. I tried to sweep it and vacum it but they just don't seem to go away. I have now resorted to pulling it out when I do these types of projects.

I have had a Bed Rug in my last several trucks. This time, I went with a Reflex spray in bed liner. Missed the Bed Rug. But with the spray in liner, the install would be a pain. Bed Rug, however, also has just the bottom mat portion that fits the NNBS standard box, so I put one of those in. I like that combination, but would prefer the full Bed Rug.

Mine is covered as well, and I havn't had to haul much in bed. Came in the truck off the showroom and I like it. Only had one problem with one of the velcro stickies came loose on the tailgate.

So can any of the dealer guys tell us if the Chevy part (number 19203029) bed rug is different from a "real" brand name bed rug? Its on the short list after I'm over the Credit card bill for the coming hood protector and bed cover.

I love the bed rug. I have a cover on my bed so I don't know if it fades. I like because it extends the interior of the truck without being fragile. I will always put a bed rug in my trucks. The only problem I had was in Arizona. It was 120 degrees and the adhesive on the velcro melted on the tailgate and let the fall. Another nice benefit is on your knees. Unless you use it like a dump truck, I'd say get one.

Hit it with the power washer. That's what I do.

I may have mislead you guys. When I read bedrug, I assumed you were talking about the thick rubber one, not the carpeted one. I have the rubber type. I have no idea how the carpeted ones hold up...
