Upon installation of kit 66-3003 to a GMT900 pickup - are replacement rear shock absorbers required ?

Any body done this yet ??

If your only going up an 1" you'll be OK,But any higher than that you'll want longer shocks.

I installed the " 66-3003 " on the weekend , removed the 1.18" OEM block and replaced with the 3.00" ReadyLift replacement..One side was the learning curve - second side went rather smoothly ,, my advice - raise the rear axle enough to remove the rear tire , there the (4) OEM U-Bolt nuts are easily accessable rather than trying to access from underneath - (OEM nuts are crimped) then just as easy as lifting the rear spring pack from the axle and remove / replace .. WD40 the replacement bolts/nuts made much installation easier .. torque to spec yada yada yadayou will need a 7/8" deep well socket to install the Readylift kt ~ a delta rear lift of 1.82" ..

With the swap out from the 1" OEM block to the 3" Readylift Block ...

Measured = Distance between OEM Jounce bumper to Jounce bumper pad on axle = 5 inches

my shocks allowed installation of the replacement block - but yes, at the time of shock replacement a longer version will be required

Rancho would not sell me either the Bump stop extender .. :-( .. but Fabtech will .. :-)

YES!!!! Ready lift says NO but take it from someone who did it, You need to replace with "lift Shocks" or Longer Shocks. I have an '08 1500 2wd ext cab with the Z71 Suspension. Maybe its the Z71 shocks but my shocks were not long enough to use the lift. Its wierd. The ready lift 3" block kit only gives you in reality a 1.5" lift but that was enough to bottom out my shocks.
