Can Someone Explain

I am trying to hook up some fog lights on my brush guard but for the life of me can't figure out which color wire is what, the highbeam wires have I believe orange and purple, what color is hott and what color is ground, I don't have a tester to test it so I figured i'd ask.

Should be purple and orange with the orange being hot. Surely you're not going to tap into the high beam circuit to add aftermarket fog lights though? You might just overload the circuit....

I am not directly hooking up the lights to the high beams for power, that is apparently where a wire goes and then gets plugged into the switch, I am not sure why that is but these are a new for me and they are Hella 500 series. I personally don't understand what the issue is with keeping wiring simple, red= power(hot), black = ground(cold), why do they need to make it different colors, my tail-lights are like that its all different colors then what you'd expect.

Obviously something to do w/ energizing a relay or something similiar. If you need anything else I've got the wiring diagrams... good luck.
