Grease Fittings Pics

Hey there guys a quick question for you all.

I have a 04 gm that I have a concern about before I take her down to whistler and back (about 4000 klm round trip) I have noticed in the last 1000 klms or so that the steering is acting a bit different. it is real hard to explain but its feels almost a little, for lack of a better turn, more shaky then normal. it seems like im also helping it, just a bit to get back to center after a turn. I took a look under the truck and all the grease fittings are a mess with grease all over them. there does not seem to be any hole in them just old ,dirty grease all over the out side. I think my main concern is in pic 1and 3that I can move that boot back and forth with my hands. is it normal for some grease to leak out or is any a sign of something wrong. my truck has 40,000 klm on it (cnd) and I had a wheel alignment done about 1500 klms ago when I got the new tires. the tires are 285 75 17 good year mtrs, could them being a mud tire contribute to the steering. thanks year

You shouldn't be able to pull the boot back like that. I would say that without any protection the joints could be worn and I hate to say it but, you could be looking at new joints. The Joints should be almost donut looking with the Rubber boot covering the joint.

Sounds like a trip to the suspension shop.

Sorry mate
