2008 Silverado 1500 2wd 5.3l: - Aluminum Block Vs. Iron Block

I see listings for both yet can't figure out a pattern as to which trucks have the aluminum block.

 

Is there a HP difference? They're all 315 HP right?

 

Is it the flex fuel engines that are aluminum?

 

Is the a price difference?

Actually there are four 5.3 engines...

 

An iron-block non flex fuel---RPO LY5

An iron-block flex fuel---RPO LMG

An aluminum block non flex fuel---RPO LH6

An aluminum block flex fuel---RPO LC9

 

The iron blocks are mostly in the regular and extended-cab trucks,And the aluminum blocks are in the crew-cab trucks.

However iron-block 5.3s are available in certain crew-cabs. Aluminum 5.3s are not available in regular or extended-cabs.
