Hello everyone im new here and would love some feedback. I have allways had GM trucks and cars. Currently i have a 99 S-10 V6, 84 V8 S-10 Blazer, and a 72 ProStreet C10. Im in the market for something new and im dying to buy the new Camaro but im also looking to buy the new G8 GT, V8 Colorado, and of course the new GMC Sierra. Im not really a car guy but i test drove the new G8 GT over the weekend to get a feel for the new Camaro and fell in love with it, i also test drove a new GMC Sierra Crew Cab 4x4 and loved it. Im really confused even though i could use the truck the most i would like yalls feedback at what youve ownd before your truck and which you like the best. Also any feedback on these new Trucks. These trucks have a great deal of rebates/incentives and will probably go for the GMC Sierra because of them,

Thanks for everyones help, love the Forum!!!!

unless you're ready to buy right NOW, wait for the 09's and see how the new 6sp works. also, i'd really want to see the 6.2 and 6sp combo from the denali show up in the trucks, but i've heard that's not happening. i can't for the life of me figure out why though.

It most certainly is....but only in Crewcabs. Check out the 09 order guides.

Thats good to hear about the 6sp. Im going to buy in Feb. so i can use my tax money for an extra down payment. Is the 6sp going to be across the line up because all i really need is a 5.3 all ill be towing is maybie a 22ft camper or a tractor, but finding out the 6sp is coming that really does make me want to wait exspecially for the gas millage,

Yep, 6 spd will be available across the board, except on 4.3 V6's and the 4.8 V8's IIRC.

I am in the same boat as you. I have had 3 GM trucks. Actually those are the only daily drivers I've ever had. I had '91 Sierra, '96 Silverado, and currently a '00 Silverado - all maroon:-). I really like the look of the NBS Sierra. I also would like a crew. The 6 speed option is attractive but in my opinion I'm not sure it is worth waiting. THe 4 speed is proven. The 6 speed is relatively new. I have seen plenty of post here and on the G8 forum of people complaining about shifting, hesitation, indecisive shifting, etc. Some have been able to tune it out it seems. I thought the 6 speed would be worth it for mileage. The thing is though the gears you get are just really low and a slightly higher 2nd OD. I've seen estimates of a 5% increase in mileage which is about 1mpg. For the option cost plus the lack of incentives on the '09, you can buy a lot of gas to make up for that 1mpg. At least that is what I keep telling myself :-).

I test drove the G8 too. It is really nice. I've seen reports of 26-27mpg too if you drive it right. But with the 6.0 in it that would be hard :-). The incentives on the G8 - or lack thereof - make it more expensive than a loaded up truck. The G8s are starting to pile up on lots though so incentives may be coming soon. It is a great car but the gas prices are hurting its acceptance really.

Thanks everyone, ive never had this hard of a time choosing my next vehicle. Usally i just go and get what i wanted, i mean i wanted a Camaro so i drove the G8 to get the feel and then the GMC now im stuck. Guess i need to wait till Dec. and see what the prices are going to be on the Camaro SS then if its going to be more than exspected ill be driving the GMC or G8 and so far everyone on this forum is extremely nice and from what ive read and researched everyone is very happy with there trucks and quality.

One more question how long do you guys see this GM discounts/incentives and overstocks continuing. Im hoping to at least Feb. so i could use my taxes for a down payment to get my payments cheaper thanks

65bus : Welcome! If you're really wanting a Camaro, just wait. Aren't they supposed to be out next Fall? There's no way you wouldn't be upside down in a note by next Fall. I say wait and get what you really want...

I think that combo requires the LTZ trim level, too, in addition to the truck being a crew cab.
