Avalanche Air-ride

Recommended Posts

I have a 2007 Avalanche LTZ 2WD with the air-ride system. I would like to lower the overall ride height just a little, not looking for a low rider, just down over the tires some. I have two gals in wheel chairs and it would just make it easier for them and make the truck look beter IMO.

Can it be lowered and not interfer with the automatic load leveling ? Who would I have to talk to about doing the work ? The local dealer said, "Can't be done !"

You help is appreciated. :dunno:

I've not looked at the system on an Avy...But the one on my TBSS only required a moving of the sensors...I didn't even have to take the wheels off to do it.

I also had to cut about 1" off the bumpstops...But that only took like 5 minutes and I doubt you'd have to do it on an Avalanche.

Yes you can ! Go to www.kelderman.com or call 888-753-8811 You can go down and then back up at will !

You can go this route or you could put shorter springs on it. I believe the Avalanche is on the same rear suspension as the Tahoe. People with Tahoe and Suburban's have used Pedders lowering springs and shorter sensor control arms for the autoride. They claim the ride is the same if not better, there is a clip on youtube if you want to see how it handles a slalom course.

You will probably get a 2-3 inch drop with the Pedders and that will definitely give you the look you want with the 20s.

Tell me more about this.... I looked at the Kelderman system and that doesn't look like what I want. I still need to be able to tow a car hauler from time to time !
