Would 2" Drop Shackles Be A Good Idea For Me?

I am thinking about getting 2" drop shackles for my rear leaf springs to level out the truck. The only problem is that every now and then I do tow a trailer and also load an ATV on the bed. As of now, with the ATV loaded on back, the truck sits level. I'm worried that if I drop the truck, next time I load the ATV, my front end is going to be higher than the back... :dunno:

What do you think? Go for the shackles or forget about it?

Towing or not towing? Not towing I average around 16 mpg with mixed city/highway driving and a lead foot.

Your truck looks great the way it is. If you're worried about the frontend being higher when hauling, definitely don't put drop shackles on.

You could get the drop shackles, and put some overload springs like M.Cueva has (not an AAL, the ones that sit on top of the leaf pack).

I don't want a rougher ride though. I think I'm just going to leave it how it is and get a new grille for the truck instead :dunno:

I've got a '95 too and I think the bed height is just right. I did lower the '07 2" though and it's still a couple of inches higher than the GMT400. Spend the money on something else. :dunno:

The overload springs that sit on top of the leaf don't affect the ride when unloaded, they just sit there, but when the stock springs sag down, they help support the weight. I'll see if I can find pictures.

I know M. Cueva posted pictures of his a while ago, but I think he deleted them from his photobucket.
