spark plug gap

Ok,

Who uses RapidFire plugs and do you leave them on the preset .045 gap that is recommended? Should I stay with the good ol .035 gap with these plugs?

Thanks

I use them with .050 gap, but only because I have an MSD. If you are using them with stock ignition, I would stick with the recommended gap size. If I remember correctly, they were actually about .038 out of the box for the "#1" which my truck uses.

That .045 recommended gap on those RapidFires is a happy medium.  Keep in mind, that particular plug may be used in varying applications throughout GM's lineup.  With that said, I'd stick with what is preferrable on the trucks emission sticker.  But if you feel you want to make it a happy medium, split the difference and do .040.

Be thankful, most the newer ones run .060 stock!!

Just what I was thinkin  :D  I'm gonna run the .040 and see what happens. Just seems lately that I'm getting some "knock" or ping.

Will I even notice the difference?
