carneyman Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Yeah, its a doomsday device alright...only if you have no knowledge of physics other than you see in movies... Can't wait till they create a black hole here on earth!!
97SierraGMC Posted September 11, 2008 Author Posted September 11, 2008 yea they are trying to make another "big bang" and they have no idea what its going to do... thats safe
carneyman Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 yea they are trying to make another "big bang" and they have no idea what its going to do... thats safe Yeah, but the supposed "big bang" was, supposedly, made up of all the matter in the universe. They are using a few particles. Just a bit of difference. No worries. Now, the people in Austin, Tx should be worried. UT has the biggest laser in the world, right under the campus, and they fire it off all the time...and we know how those longhorns can be...
Billy-Jean Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 they turned it ON, nothing..............but things could get crazy...lol
97SierraGMC Posted September 11, 2008 Author Posted September 11, 2008 they turned it ON, nothing..............but things could get crazy...lol yes but they said it could take 1 yr - 4 yrs for particles to actually collide.
dietz4ibanez Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Once those particles collide it will be the hottest reaction to any level of heat on earth... Man habitats on earth, man plays with particles, man creates hell and dies from it...
97SierraGMC Posted September 11, 2008 Author Posted September 11, 2008 i read it could get to a trillion degrees centigrade..
Zembonez Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Never know... it might just make those HHO conversions work.
carneyman Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Never know... it might just make those HHO conversions work. Ha, yeah...wait a minute...whats the labs phone number again? Oh, and it will take 1-4 years to run all the calculations, not for the particles to collide...
rvsahs Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Hmm... this sounds like one of mankind's greatest follies... only to be repeated again in the years to come....[Discussing the effects of the Genesis torpedo in Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan]McCoy: Dear Lord. You think we're intelligent enough to... suppose... what if this thing were used where life already exists? Spock: It would destroy such life in favor of its new matrix. McCoy: "Its new matrix"? Do you have any idea what you're saying? Spock: I was not attempting to evaluate its moral implications, Doctor. As a matter of cosmic history, it has always been easier to destroy than to create. McCoy: Not anymore; now we can do both at the same time! According to myth, the Earth was created in 6 days. Now, watch out. Here comes Genesis. We'll do it for you in 6 minutes! Spock: Really, Dr. McCoy. You must learn to govern your passions; they will be your undoing. Logic suggests... McCoy: Logic? My God, the man's talking about logic; we're talking about universal Armageddon! You green-blooded, inhuman...
Zembonez Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Dammit Roger... that was pretty good! Especially coming from an OU fan!
