Map Sensor

I have a 2003 Tahoe 4.8 2wd 145k. When would you know if a MaP Sensor is going bad?? Any ideas would be greatly appreaciated.

Scan tool... that would be your best bet!

 

or maybe unplugging it and see if it does the same thing..

I have a car hip scanner on my rig at all times and has never read any Check engine codes. Just have some hesitation when when i accelerate quickly. i will unplug and test that theroy tomorrow.

FYI

 

i was able to remove the MAP sensor from the intake manifold and found that the inlet part of the sensor had a film of carbon build up cover it. A few squirts of carb cleaner took care of that as well as the hesitation i was getting at idle.
